The Washtenaw County Road Commission plans to resurface the stretch of E. Huron River Drive that is adjacent to the WCC campus on Thursday, May 18 and Friday, May 19. While crews will maintain two-way traffic with flag control operations, substantial delays should be expected and entrances to the college will be closed for extended periods.
The alternate access to the WCC campus is to enter off Clark Road, where you can easily access parking lots 6 and 7. Please note, however, that the ongoing project to replace the college’s sanitary line has closed the service drive near the Gunder Myran and Business Education buildings, preventing access to parking lots 2, 3 and 4 on the north side of campus. To access those parking lots, you must turn right after entering from Clark Road and proceed along the service drive past the parking structure and the Morris Lawrence and Occupational Education buildings (see map).
Washtenaw County Road Commission plans call for road milling during the day on May 18 and May 19, with paving taking place both days beginning at 6 p.m. Completion of the project is weather dependent. You can sign up to receive project updates from the commission. In the days following the resurfacing, crews will be working on road striping and shoulders, but this is not expected to cause significant delays.
