Washtenaw Community College now offers our Advanced Diagnostic Imaging programs (including MRI, CT, and Mammography) in a virtual format for students to learn from anywhere.
Our programs provide students a flexible opportunity to earn an advanced credential in diagnostic imaging. The curriculum can also be customized for individuals needing only the structured education component.

MRI Program
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program is a post-associate advanced certificate program that is designed for registered radiologic technologists (ARRT), radiation therapists (ARRT), Sonographers (ARRT or ARDMS) and nuclear medicine technologists (ARRT or NMTCB). This program offers the didactic and clinical experience that will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are required to become an entry-level magnetic resonance imaging technologist. The curriculum is based on the recommended American Society of Radiologic Technology (ASRT) magnetic resonance imaging guidelines. Upon successful completion of the MRI program, students are eligible to take the ARRT post-primary certification examination in magnetic resonance imaging.

CT Program
The Computed Tomography Certificate Program provides a structured pathway for current registered radiologic technologists to obtain the fundamental knowledge, skills and abilities required to become an entry-level CT technologist. Students quickly grow their skills as they engage in this two-semester curriculum which provides them with the required structured education component as well as a robust clinical experience. The curriculum can be customized for those students needing only the structured education component required by the ARRT.

Mammography Program
Designed for working technologists, this one semester, 7.5 week online certificate program provides students a flexible opportunity to earn a mammography credential while advancing their career in diagnostic imaging. The program meets the structured education and clinical requirements for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) mammography exam. The curriculum can also be customized for individuals needing only the structured education component of the program.
