Did you know learning how to study effectively is a skill and needs to be practiced? Every student relies on a set of different techniques while studying. To discover the study techniques that will work best for you, it’s helpful to first understand your learning style.
Three of the more common types of learning styles are: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.
Visual learners prefer to look at material. Auditory learners prefer to listen to
someone tell them the information. Kinesthetic learners prefer to physically interact
with the material. Understanding your learning style is useful because you can tailor
your study skills to your learning style. For example, if you’re an auditory learner,
you might prefer to memorize material by creating a mnemonic or by listening to an
audio recording of the material. If you’re a visual learner, you might prefer to write
out the material or use
flash cards to memorize it.
