Alex Milshteyn has been sworn in as the newest member of the Washtenaw Community College Board of Trustees.
A graduate of WCC and Washtenaw Technical Middle College (WTMC), the high school located on campus, Milshteyn was appointed by the Board of Trustees to replace Trustee Richard J. Landau, Ph.D., who resigned his seat on January 1. Milshteyn will fill the remainder of Landau’s term through December 31, 2024.
WCC’s Board of Trustees has also elected new officers to serve for the next two years.
Trustee Angela Davis was elected Chair, William G. Milliken Jr. as Vice Chair, David DeVarti as Treasurer and Ruth Hatcher as Secretary.
Actively engaged in WCC, Milshteyn is Immediate Past Chair of the WCC Foundation and previously served as Secretary of the WTMC Board of Directors.
He represents residential real estate sellers and buyers in the Ann Arbor area and is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), an achievement that just 2% of all Realtors worldwide have achieved. He is also among the top 1% of all Realtors in the Ann Arbor area and in the state of Michigan.
Milshteyn was previously recognized as one of the “Top 30 Realtors in the Nation Under 30” by Realtor Magazine, the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors’ “Realtor of the Year,” and one of Crain’s Detroit “20 In Their 20s.”
In his volunteer roles for local organizations, Milshteyn serves the real estate community by being a board member of the National Association of Realtors and of the Michigan Realtors. In 2010, he served as President of the Ann Arbor Area Board of Realtors. In 2021, he served as President of the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC).
Raised in Ann Arbor, he earned a degree in web design from WCC and a degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University.
