Tickets are available for the February 29 Black Business Excellence & Impact Celebration honoring the 2024 WCC/Parkridge Black Business Community Impact Award recipients.
The awards for entrepreneurial excellence and commitment to community service will be presented at the celebration held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 29, at the Parkridge Community Center, 591 Armstrong Drive, Ypsilanti. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online.
The celebration will be hosted by Washtenaw Community College’s Entrepreneurship Center and College and Career Readiness Department.
The awards will recognize individuals who exemplify entrepreneurial excellence and a dedication to positively impacting the community.
The event will include a silent auction, and entertainment will be provided by the WCC/Ozone House, Design, Communication, and Cultural program and the Washtenaw Community College Jazz Band. M. Jeanice Townsend will serve as guest speaker.
Proceeds from the silent auction and dinner will benefit the WCC/Parkridge Community Center Scholarship fund for the Summer STEM Education Academy. The STEM Education Academy offers lessons, activities, and projects designed to foster problem-solving skills, creativity, and innovation.
The Parkridge Community Center, affiliated with Washtenaw Community College, catalyzes community growth and development by providing educational, cultural and recreational opportunities. The center is committed to fostering entrepreneurship and empowering individuals to impact their community positively.
