Registration is open for Parkridge Community Center’s month-long annual STEM Summer Camp.
The camp provides children ages 6-12 a fun, hands-on learning opportunity in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) curriculum. All instruction is provided by certified teachers.
Operated and staffed by Washtenaw Community College, the center provides events that focus on educational programming, college and career readiness, health, fundamental life skills and recreation. The Parkridge Center, located at 591 Armstrong Drive in Ypsilanti’s Parkridge Park, also serves as a connector for community resources.
Camp sessions are scheduled 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays July 8-August 9. The number of camp spots is limited.
Visit the WCC Parkridge Summer Camp webpage for additional details and to register, or call 734-483-7700. Staff members are available to discuss camp scholarships.
In addition to STEM-based learning, the camp features weekly field trips, workshops, swim lessons, financial literacy activities and daily breakfast, lunch and snacks.
The camp also receives help from sponsors like Toyota, University of Michigan Biointerfaces Institute, Michigan Medicine – Program for Multicultural Health, Huron River Watershed Council, Bank of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti District Library, Rutherford Pool and Square One Educational Network.
