The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers (IWA) celebrated the 30th year of its renowned Instructional Training program at an opening ceremony on Sunday, July 13 held at the Ypsilanti Marriott. Dr. Bellanca gave remarks highlighting the five-year anniversary of IWA’s partnership with WCC. She congratulated Ed Abbott, Iron Workers General Organizer, on the anniversaries and noted how the program has grown into one of the country’s premier Instructor Training programs in the building trades.
“Quite simply, the structure of our lives is in your very capable and innovative hands,” said Bellanca at the ceremony. “Our economy could not function or grow without the role a skilled tradesman or woman plays in the innovation chain. Your workmanship is vital to our daily lives.”
