At last count, 12,354 students were enrolled for the Fall 2017 semester at Washtenaw Community College’s main campus, extension centers and online courses. That’s an increase of 1.04 percent over the same date one year prior.
Those students are enrolled in 102,178 credit hours, which represents a 1.61 percent increase over 2016.
Of course, WCC was already well ahead of the national curve.
The college’s enrollment remained essentially steady each of the past three years while totals at public two-year colleges across the United States dropped by 9.6 percent over the same three-year span, according to a report from the American Association of Community Colleges.

WCC faculty, staff and current students will all lead portions of the annual event.
The day starts with check-in at 9:30 a.m. in the Morris Lawrence Building, followed by a welcome message and two 40-minute mini-class sessions with a free lunch served in between classes.
Parent-specific sessions are available.
A closing session and scholarship raffle wraps up the day at 1:30 p.m., with optional campus tours and lab showcases to follow.
