Multi-Factor Authentication for Payments

February 17, 2025 Washtenaw Community College

To enhance security and protect students’ financial information, our third-party payment provider, TouchNet, now requires multi-factor authentication (MFA). This extra layer of security helps prevent unauthorized access by ensuring only students can log in to their account—even if their password is compromised.

Effective Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Washtenaw Community College is requiring student use of Microsoft Authenticator for secure access to the TouchNet payment system. Setting up Microsoft Authenticator is quick and easy, as we’ve outlined in these step-by-step instructions.

Beginning February 26, using Microsoft Authenticator will be required any time you complete a financial transaction via our website, wccnet.edu – whether it’s paying a tuition bill or signing up for a payment plan.

NOTE: If a parent or guardian has been granted access to a student account to make tuition payments, they will not be required to use Microsoft Authenticator. TouchNet will employ its own multi-factor authentication for all parent or guardian secure access to the TouchNet payment system.

We know any change to your routine can be an adjustment, so we’re here to help make this process as smooth as possible. More information and support is available from the ITS HelpDesk at 734-973-3456 or [email protected].

Thank you for taking this step to keep your account secure!
