Curious about what all Washtenaw Community College has to offer? Then you’re in luck
because Free College Day is right around the corner. Set for Saturday, Sept. 26 from
9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., this year’s event is tied to the launch of WCC’s 50th anniversary
celebration.
Open to everyone, community members will have the opportunity to sit in on multiple 60-to- 90-minute sessions led by WCC faculty members and community enrichment instructors on various topics, including dance, photography, chemistry, journal writing, wills and trusts, and aviation.
The best part? It’s all free.
“It’s a great way to get a full taste of the college and experience what we have to offer without any commitment,” said Victoria Bennett, WCC’s academic associate of the Business and Computer Technologies division.
Bennett is coordinator of this year’s event, the fourth in the college’s history.
“For some people, it might be the nostalgia of going back to college for a day and for others, it might be the excitement of starting something new,” Bennett said. “Either way, it should have a broad appeal to a lot of different people.”
In addition to Free College Day, three other events are scheduled around campus on Saturday, Sept. 26:
- Cars & Bikes Day (11 a.m.-3 p.m. in parking lots 2 and 3).
- The Health and Fitness Center open house (10 a.m.-2 p.m., located across the street from the main campus).
- The Entrepreneur Center open house (10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Plant Operations building in room 120).
