Washtenaw Community College does not discriminate on the basis of religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status as provided for and to the extent required by federal and state statutes, nor does the College discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex—including pregnancy and related conditions—in educational programs and activities that are eligible for federal funding.
Title IX’s sex discrimination prohibition extends to claims of discrimination based on gender identity or failure to conform to stereotypical notions of masculinity or femininity and OCR accepts such complaints for investigation.
All WCC students are protected from sexual misconduct. Sexual misconduct includes but is not limited to sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. If you are a victim (complainant) of sexual misconduct – WCC strongly encourages you to report the situation.
